Ms. Ilda Nunez

Ms. Nunez is a new addition to St. Luke Parish School's second-grade classroom. She is a recent graduate from Dominican University with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with ESL and Bilingual Education endorsements. Even though this is Ms. Nunez's first-year teacher, she had the privilege to complete her student-teaching in St. Luke's third-grade classroom.

Her desire to become a teacher was because she wanted to make a difference in this world by educating children. Volunteering at a couple of elementary schools reaffirmed her desire to become a teacher. Ms. Nunez believes that every child has unique ways of learning that will allow them to express themselves in the classroom. She wants to provide her students with a safe and welcoming environment in her class that will enable them to learn and grow as individuals.

Before seeking a career in teaching, Ms. Nunez served in the United States Army and traveled within the United States and parts of Europe before coming back to Chicago. Ms. Nunez loves to travel, spend time with her family, and play with her dogs in her free time.
