PRESCHOOL NEWS

Week of May 31-June 3, 2022

Language Arts - This week we will review letters A-Z. We will listen to books and play games that help us identify and match upper and lowercase letters. We will have discussions about our feelings and relationships with our friends as we say goodbye to our school year and get ready for summer. Your summer homework is to read to your child every day. A summer bingo activity is coming home with their portfolio too!

Math – We will review the numbers 1-20 by doing a number of counting activities with manipulatives. The various counting, one-to-one correspondence, number recognition, patterning, geometric and measurement activities we have done this year can all be reinforced at home throughout the summer.

 Dates and Reminders:

• I will be sending home your child’s portfolio Wednesday or Thursday this week. This includes various art projects and writing samples done throughout the school year, their name cards (they should continue to practice this skill throughout the summer) and their flash drive with downloaded pictures and videos I’ve taken throughout the school year. Those older students attending kindergarten in the fall will be bringing home their green “My First School Book” and another green book to practice writing lowercase letters. Check the backpack for these items.
• Thursday, June 2 – Final All School Mass at 8:30am, Preschool will be attending.
• Friday, June 3 – Last day of preschool!! End of Year Program in the gym at 9:15am. Parents may arrive at 9:05am. Immediately following, families will take their children to Keystone Park where we can mingle, do some activities and eat freeze pops. We will dismiss by 11:00am.
