Superkids Dolch Words

In the Superkids language arts program, children should be able to read 66 Dolch words by the end of Kindergarten. For example words as: the and said which are words that are phonetically irregular. These words are taught as “Memory Words,” and children need to memorize these words. It is essential to their reading success.
The Kindergarten children will be tested on the “Memory Words” after each unit and then at the end of the year assessment. To encourage mastery of these words, point out these words our to your child when reading stories and during other activities you participate together. Repeated exposure and practice is very important with reading and writing these memory words. In order for your child to master these commonly read and written words, it is highly recommended you use the index cards your child completes in school or you make them home to practice.
