Mrs. Rita Martin
Mrs. Martin has been an Early Childhood teacher at St. Luke School since the fall of 2004. She holds a BA in Early Childhood Education and Sociology from Dominican University, with a Special Education Endorsement. Prior to St. Luke, she was a kindergarten teacher at St. Barbara School and also taught preschool and 1st grade at St. Mary's in Riverside. Mrs. Martin is married to Kenneth Martin, who she met while in first grade, and they quickly became good friends. The picture of their first grade class is displayed in her classroom. Together they have one son, Daniel. Mrs. Martin's favorite pastime is traveling to Hawaii to visit her friends on Maui and visiting her son and daughter-in-law, Allyson, in Wisconsin. She also loves to read, sew, crochet, and play video games. Mrs. Martin believes teaching in a Catholic school is a calling to become part of Jesus, to reach out to others and spread the good news about life and its purpose.
